The 1997 Tamagotchi Bandai #1800 is one of the first examples of the first series distributed in the United States, making it a true collector's item. This iconic model, with its original design and vintage packaging, takes you back in time to when the Tamagotchi was the trendy phenomenon among children and teenagers of the 90s. Although there are no specific references to Walmart on the packaging, its serial number certifies that it is the first model distributed on the American market only in stores of the famous American chain.
The Tamagotchi was one of the first portable devices that introduced the concept of a "virtual pet," and it quickly became a global phenomenon. The player had to care for a digital alien creature that grew and developed through daily interaction.
But how does the Tamagotchi game work? The device is based on a simple interface with three buttons, through which the player can access various functions to feed, play, clean and care for their virtual pet.
The core of the game is in managing the virtual pet's well-being, which requires constant care and attention. For example, the player can select "MEAL" or "SNACK" to feed the Tamagotchi, ensuring that it does not become hungry. When the little digital friend gets sick, it is possible to administer treatments, while bathing must be done regularly to keep the Tamagotchi clean and prevent illnesses. Another important function is discipline, which is useful when the Tamagotchi refuses to eat or misbehaves.
The illustrations on the packaging reflect the creative and colorful spirit of the era, with a layout that captures the essence of 90s pop culture. The back of the box offers a detailed guide to the various play options, highlighting the importance of caring for the Tamagotchi at every stage of its life cycle.
The device is perfectly preserved in its original packaging in excellent condition, furthermore the tab of the included batteries has never been removed. The packaging, although showing slight signs of aging, is intact and still maintains the selling price of the time. This makes it a rare and precious item, perfect for collectors who are passionate about retrogaming or nostalgic for those years.
In short, the Tamagotchi Bandai #1800 represents a journey back in time, to a time when caring for a little "digital alien" was a daily challenge that captured the imagination of millions of people around the world.
