This 1954 edition ACI map of Italy is an iconic object that represents the attention to detail of the time and the growing interest in motoring. Published by the Automobile Club d'Italia and printed by the Istituto Geografico De Agostini of Novara, this map is part of the 23rd edition and shows a large-scale (1:1,000,000) integral cartography that covers the entire Italian peninsula, including the islands.

The blue cover with the inscription "Italy at 1,000,000 - Carta Stato delle Strade" is characterized by a vintage-style design, with bright colors and clean lines, designed to capture the attention of travelers. Inside the map, well detailed and colored, there are all the main roads of the time, marked clearly and legibly, which makes this document not only useful for the time but also fascinating from a historical point of view.

A distinctive element of this edition is the presence of the "Supercortemaggiore" petrol advertisement inside, with the famous logo depicting the six-legged dog, a symbol of the refined Italian post-war advertising graphics. The Supercortemaggiore advertisement adds a touch of historical and cultural authenticity, making the map a coveted piece not only for map collectors but also for enthusiasts of vintage advertising.

The map opens like an accordion, and is in good overall condition, with slight wear to the edges of the cover that shows its use over the years. The inside, where the map is printed, is in excellent condition, with colors still vivid and no signs of significant discoloration.
