Antique Missal for Prayers with Celluloid Cover - Italy 1898

This charming prayer missal, dated 1898 and printed by the Istituto d'Arti Grafiche in Bergamo, is a real treasure for lovers of antiques and religious collections. Probably used for communions, the ivory celluloid cover, decorated with floral motifs in relief, features an engraving in the center with an angel holding a child's hand, who almost seem to watch over the book itself.

Inside we find 190 pages of sacred texts and prayers, accompanied by splendid religious illustrations that reflect the lithographic style of the time. The pages, surrounded by red borders and finished in gold on the sides, emanate the warmth and sacredness typical of prayer books of times gone by. Furthermore, on the first inside page you can see the stamp of the “Libreria Goglino” of Turin, which attests to its Italian origins and its history.

This vintage missal naturally has some signs of aging, with slight wear on the spine and cover, but it retains all of its beauty and integrity.
